MSS Board of Trustees
Motueka South School is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of:
Five parent elected representatives
One Staff Representative
The Principal
Trustees are elected every three years with the next election due in 2024.
I'm the Presiding Member (Chair) of the MSS Board and have been on the Board since we moved to Motueka from Wellington three years ago. My husband James and I have two daughters: Eva - 10 and Lily - 7.
Both girls very much enjoy going to MSS each day. Being a Board member is a rewarding role that helps me feel connected to the school and able to make a contribution. I love being at the beach, tramping, boating and hanging out with my friends and whānau.
I'm Kate Everton. My husband Dave and I have one daughter and one son at MSS and another daughter that will go through eventually. In fact I will be an MSS parent for another 12 years!!
My background is commercial banking and I enjoy utilising this skill in the financial aspect of
board responsibilities. Being a board member is a fufilling way I can contribute to the school community. In my free time you’ll find me at the beach, socialising with friends or on a bike enjoying this incredible region.
Kia ora whānau, My name is Gabriel and I'm new to the BoT. I have two kids attending MSS, both in Te Kākano. We moved to Motueka from Porirua last year and feel incredibly lucky to have ended up at MSS, as we absolutely love being here, and think the school is very special.
I am a primary school teacher myself, and have been doing some work as a relief teacher. I also run my own cleaning and gardening business part time which I really enjoy. I'm really looking forward to being able to get behind these wonderful teachers and contribute in a small way to our school.
